Chipolino is collecting textile for reuse and recovery in cooperation with the Bulgarian Red Cross
The collection of used clothes through the Bulgarian Red Cross’s initiative is very convenient to the former owners of many otherwise useless textile clothes and accessories, thus helping to achieve a closed cycle and minimize the waste.
The textile items collected in the Red Cross containers are first sorted out, then they are either processed or prepared for recovery. Some clothes are directed to a crisis reserve center of the Bulgarian Red Cross to help the victims of calamities and emergencies while others are exported to third world countries.
The clothes which cannot be reused are subjected to further processing to make cloths and upholstery for the automobile industry.
This year Chipolino once again took part in the Bulgarian Red Cross’s initiative by installing a container for clothes collection on the territory of the plant. The purpose was to give a good example on how sustainable practices for separate collection of textile can be extended and shared with our employees, by getting them personally involved in the process. This way the employer tries to imbibe corporate consciousness and it would be great if every employee would spread it on to his/her own household.
