A Magical Christmas Gift

Christmas is the time when we wish to make happy all our dear ones. Still, we seem to lack time and money to afford luxury gifts for our relatives and friends.

The preparation of home-made candies and their exquisite decoration is easy and turns out to be a good idea with many advantages. Your kids have a central role in the scenario that guarantees them much fun. The final product is amazing and is greeted with applauses.

Home-made candies with scent of rum.

Ingredients:

2 packages of biscuits Breakfast (Zakuska)

1 ½  teaspoons of powdered sugar

½ teaspoon raisins, soaked in water

1 egg

1 package of butter

1-2 teaspoons of ground walnuts

2-3 drops of rum extract

2 vanillas

2 tablespoons of cocoa

Mini Chocolate Sticks

Mini Colour Sticks

Coconut Traces

Preparation:

Let's Do It

Grind the biscuits in a blender. Add the soft and almost melted butter, the sugar, the drained raisins, cocoa, a cup of ground walnuts, the egg, and the flavours. Knead it well until you get a homogeneous mixture. Now, it is time for the kid to step in . Give him a part of the mixture and assign him the very important mission to knead the ball as plasticine. Usually, children are very happy and diligently do their job.

The Chief Cook

When the mixture is ready, start to make small balls with the size of a candy. Then, roll the balls in the ground walnut If you wish, you can put mini chocolate sticks or traces of coconuts instead of walnuts. If you have more time, you can roll the balls in chocolate couverture. For this purpose, you may melt some chocolate and add 1-2 tablespoon of cooking oil for gloss.

Irresistible and Shiny

When you roll in the balls in the chocolate couverture, you can arrange them on a wrap to drain and solidify.

Important! If you plan to offer the candies in a few days’ time and you cannot keep them in a fridge, do not put yolk in the mixture.

Some of the products and quantities in this recipe simply serve as an example. So, do not hesitate to experiment and to discard or add a product as you like.

The Impressive Decoration

The decoration:

Arrange the candies on a suitable and solid pad, dish or a mini tray. Put them on cellophane with a suitable size and wrap it around the candies with an impressive ribbon and some Christmas decoration. Engage the child in all of those activities. Keep on explaining the kid each step as well as the importance of offering gifts that bring lots of joy to the loved ones.  A carton or metal box with a Christmas pattern or a fancy glass pot can be also a suitable wrapping.
